Bunshun Interviews Tapioca Store Owner and Kinoshita Yukina's Sister

Shukan Bunshun interviewed the owner of the store and Kinoshita Yukina's sister. They both told very different stories. Previous post: here.

Owner's side

*Kinoshita Yukina's sister = Sayaka

Sayaka and the owner were mum-friends. Sayaka was stressed out at home. The owner thought that working at her store would help Sayaka take her mind off things at home, so she asked her, "I'm going to open a tapioca store so do you want to work there with me?" Sayaka started working at the store when it opened on July 20. She and Kinoshita Yukina were not involved in the management of the store in any way.

Congratulations Big Sis, From your one and only little sister, the cutest in the world, Love you Sayaka

August came the school holidays. Sayaka told the owner that she couldn't work. After talking it out, it was decided that she would only work on Fridays.

On August 8, Shukan Shincho reported that Kinoshita Yukina's sister had opened a tapioca store. Sayaka was aware that the magazine had said the store was hers. Kinoshita had also revealed on Instagram that her older sister had opened the store. The owner had not asked Kinoshita to advertise the store as Sayaka's even once. Sayaka apologised to the owner for this, "I'm sorry that they're all writing that it's my store."

But then at the beginning of September, Sayaka suddenly said she was quitting. The owner thinks maybe it's because she didn't want to work until her kids started school again. The owner said it would be hard on the shop if Sayaka suddenly quit, and also that she'd be letting down the customers who have come to see Yukina's older sister. Discussions failed and Sayaka quit.

The owner told Sayaka that she'll of course pay her for the days she worked, and said that she'd personally hand the pay to her, so to come collect it during opening hours. Sayaka didn't come to collect it, so the owner paid by bank transfer at the end of September. The owner thinks this is why Kinoshita Yukina claimed that Sayaka's pay came late.

In September, a food safety supervisor plaque with Sayaka's name on it, that was displayed behind the cash register, went missing. The owner notified the police and the police told them to first check with the people who have a spare key. She asked Sayaka, who still had a key even though she had already quit, if she knew anything about the plaque. Judging from the Instagram post, the owner thinks that this is why Sayaka felt like she was treated like a thief.

The owner lost her patience when she received Kinoshita's childish and threatening messages. She was shocked by the abusive language. Since the Instagram post, the shop has been receiving lots of prank calls. She is scared. Kinoshita apologised with a private message but it was not a sincere apology. The owner is considering taking legal action.

Sayaka's side

Sayaka had been stressed out over family matters, so the owner invited Sayaka to run a tapioca store together with her. Sayaka remembers feeling extremely grateful. She told her sister that she'd be running a tapioca store with her friend. After hearing that, her sister Yukina promoted the store on Instagram.

Sayaka thought that the shop would be co-owned at first because of the way the owner invited her. The owner said "Let's run a tapioca store together." She later realised it wasn't because the owner designed the interior by herself and refused when she offered to pay for half of the cost.

The store had over 200 customers on its opening day because of Yukina's promotion on Instagram. The owner was happy that Yukina helped advertise the store on Instagram.

There were some customers who thought that the shop was Sayaka's but every time she would tell them that the shop wasn't hers and that she was only working there. When Shukan Shincho came for an interview, she clearly told them, "The shop isn't mine. It's the owner's. She's letting me work here. This shop has no connection to Kinoshita Yukina either."

When the owner saw the Shukan Shincho article, she said, "Yukina-chan acted thoughtlessly." Sayaka felt that she had caused trouble for the owner, and went to apologise to the owner and her mother. When she apologised, the owner responded with, "A magazine isn't something you can be on even if you want to. It's good advertising so it's alright!" The owner didn't show any other signs that she didn't like Kinoshita's advertising.

Kinoshita Yukina and Aoyama Thelma both sent a bouquets to celebrate the opening.

There were almost no talks about money until July 31. On July 31, the owner gave her July's pay, and asked her what she planned to do the next month. This was the first time they specifically discussed her pay and working hours. They decided the pay would be summed up every month on the 25th (¥1000/hr), and she would receive it at the end of each month. The owner asked her to work part-time whenever they were short-staffed. Because Sayaka could only work work until 5 pm because she needed to look after her kids, it was decided that for August, she would only work Fridays.

On August 30, the owner asked her to work more days because it was hard being the only worker. Sayaka said she still needed to look after her kids. The owner replied, "We're co-managing the shop so you have to share half of the burden, too."

The word "co-managing" worried her. She discussed with her husband and they thought maybe she should resign. She had another discussion with the owner on August 31, where she told the owner she was thinking of quitting. The owner said to work on the days she could. They had a heart to heart talk and Sayaka thought that they had made up.

However on September 1, they started arguing again, on LINE, about whether the owner said they were "co-managing" or not. On the 2nd, she told the owner she was planning on quitting but nothing was solved.

With the situation still unclear, Sayaka worked on the 3rd. Sayaka was asked to work on the 11th but was then told later she didn't have to come. On the 14th, the owner told Sayaka to come to her house to pick up gifts a friend had left for her, and to return the spare key to the store, so Sayaka guessed that it meant she was no longer an employee there.

When she went to return the key on September 14, she still hadn't received her pay for August. She thought she would receive it when she returned the key because on the 3rd, the owner had messaged her saying that she could collect her pay at any time. But when she went there and told the owner that she hadn't received her pay, the owner said, "But I didn't say I'd pay you today, did I?" Sayaka said she didn't need the pay anymore. Later, the owner messaged her saying that she'd bank transfer the money a few days later.

Sayaka says she didn't even touch the food safety supervisor plaque.

She told her sister about everything. Her sister became emotional and posted that Instagram post and sent those messages. Sayaka thinks that her sister is completely in the wrong here. She didn't consider her standing as a celebrity, caused trouble for her agency, and was extremely irresponsible.

The details don't matter.
It was over for her the moment she threatened them like a gangster, "you'll be facing me and my whole agency."

>When she invited me it sounded like we were going to run the business together.
>I planned to pay for half but the owner refused and said, "It's okay, our company will pay for it!"

In other words, you didn't pay a single cent. In that case, the issue isn't whether the owner said you were "co-managing" or not. You don't have the right to manage to begin with, okay?

No matter what the true story is, her true nature has been exposed
My feelings are just, 'Not surprised'

How did the sister not realise that the whole scenario was too good to be true? Not even paying a single cent towards it (even if she was told she didn't need to), and then misunderstanding that she's co-managing. And even if you are just a part-timer, suddenly saying you can only work Fridays is so irresponsible.

I don't care whether the problem between the owner and Kinoshita-san's sister was solved or not.
Kinoshita Yukina threatening them that they'll be "facing me and my whole agency" is what's bad.
It didn't even get on the news, but they can't stop it spreading online so articles have been popping up.
So her agency really does have power.
It's crazy how she tried to drive the store to a corner by stirring up her own followers.
Makes me think she's already done this before, using her agency's power to threaten someone.

She's considered the ideal Mama-talento right now but it's obvious that she's misaligned from society. So uncivilised.

It's Kinoshita Yukina so I'm not surprised. She seems like the type act on her emotions and say stuff like that. It's more a mystery to me why she was popular. I don't want to see her on TV anymore.

The people involved should solve the matter by themselves.
The issue here is the a former thug talent who obstructed someone's business with threats and force.

If she was a non-celebrity, she would have been arrested for blackmail but her agency got involved and is skillfully dealing with the aftermath. The unfairness is disappointing.
