NHK announced on the 21st that Kawaguchi Haruna (24) will be replacing Sawajiri Erika (33) in the Taiga drama, Kirin ga Kuru. This is her first role in a Taiga drama.
Kawaguchi will be playing, Kichō (Nōhime; Lady Nō), Saito Dosan's daughter, and later Oda Nobunaga's legal wife. NHK started looking for Sawajiri Erika's replacement after Sawajiri was arrested for dɾᴜg possession. Sawajiri had already filmed up to the 10th episode.
Kirin ga Kuru will begin its broadcast on January 5. Kawaguchi's role has many scenes with the main character Akechi Mitsuhide, who is played by Hasegawa Hiroki. According to NHK, Kawaguchi's character will appear starting from the first episode, as originally planned.
